Boutique London
ACC Editions/Richard Lester
192pp casebound book

A blast from the past: I designed this brightly coloured 192-page book for publisher ACC Editions. Written by Richard Lester, Boutique London: A History follows the journey of the first risk-takers who started businesses in the King’s Road and Carnaby Street area of London in the sixties; from Mary Quant and John Stephen to Ossie Clark, Mr Fish and Granny Takes a Trip.

With in-depth profiles of over 30 retailers and lavish illustrations; the clothes, interiors and characters of Boutique London are as diverse as they are eye-catching, vividly bringing to life a vanished London which changed the way we shop forever.

I used typefaces adopted at the time alongside the sumptuous illustrations of the weird and the wonderful, the glamorous and the bizarre. All-in-all a lovely project to work on.
